BOLINGBROOK — On Tuesday, Bolingbrook police arrested a suspect in connection with two attempted child abductions in January.
Kareem L. Green, 20, of 505 Preston Drive Apt. 125, Bolingbrook, has been charged with attempted kidnapping, two counts of unlawful restraint, aggravated battery and battery, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa.
Green was positively identified as the offender by both victims and a key witness, police said.
The first incident occurred around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 near the intersection of Radcliff Drive and Old Stone Road, where a 16-year-old female walking home from Bolingbrook High School was approached by a male who attempted to grab her and pull her into his vehicle, according to police.
Two days later, on Thursday, Jan. 31, Bolingbrook police responded to another reported child abduction in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive.
A 16-year-old female victim was followed into an apartment building while walking home from Bolingbrook High School around 2:11 p.m. She was grabbed from behind as she entered a hallway on the second floor, according to police.
Both victims were Bolingbrook High School students and both escaped the incidents unharmed, police said.
Green was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, Rompa said.
