La Grange Public Works clears the way during Tuesday storm

Published: Tuesday, March 5, 2013 1:21 p.m. CST

LA GRANGE - Although snow is expected to fall throughout the day, the streets in La Grange remain clear as the La Grange Department of Public Works continues to plow streets and clean sidewalks, according to Director of Public Works Ryan Gillingham.

"It's going excellent," Gilingham said. "Snow didn't start falling until this morning, around 8 a.m. or so, so we're able to keep up."

Gillingham said there are six large trucks clearing roads with the help of three or four smaller trucks. Gillingham said three or four individuals continue to clear sidewalks.

"As it continues to snow, we'll be out continuing to clear snow and sidewalks," Gillingham said.

Later tonight, Gillingham said Public Works will haul away snow to the open YMCA parking lot, a process they expect to continue for several nights.
