Oak Brook Park District Vice President Kathy Carson receives statewide recognition
OAK BROOK — Kathy Carson was the recipient of the Illinois Association Park Districts (IAPD) Distinctive Board Member Award, which was presented at the Feb. 18 regular meeting of the Oak Brook Park District Board of Commissioners.
Carson, vice president of the Oak Brook Park District Board of Commissioners, received the recognition for participation in the IAPD Board Member Development program. The program gives recognition to local board members who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty through committee involvement, attendance at continuing educational opportunities and achievements at the local, state and national levels.
The Board Member Development Program is a point based system. Participants accumulate “Board Development Units” (BDUs) yearly. The units are earned for continuing education and volunteering in the community on behalf of the park district.
