Valley View Summer Learning Experience registration coming in March
BOLINGBROOK — Registration for Valley View School District's summer learning and enrichment camp begins Friday.
Designed to continue a student’s learning momentum through the summer months, Valley View's all-day Summer Learning Experience will run in two four-week sessions from June 10 to July 3 and from July 8 to August 2.
Program fees will cost $110 a week for any child who lives within the Valley View attendance boundaries and $125 a week for any child who lives outside the district.
The Summer Learning Experience day will focus on reading comprehension and writing skills as well as hands-on math instruction during the morning and activities such as hands-on science, Readers Theatre, book talks, and leisure, motor skills time during the afternoon.
The day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Before and after program activities will also take place.
The Summer Learning Experience will be offered at five sites: Pioneer Elementary School, Hermansen Elementary School, R.C. Hill Elementary School, B.J. Ward Elementary School, and Jamie McGee Elementary School
While special needs students are welcome to participate, students will not be afforded the same level of support and services they receive during the normal school year or in the Extended School Year program. English Language Learners are also welcome.
