Wheaton Warrenville South falls short of advancing to state
CARPENTERSVILLE - Wheaton Warrenville South was denied its bid to reach the Class 4A state semifinals, dropping a 47-43 decision to Huntley in the Dundee-Crown supersectional Monday.
The Tigers, who were appearing in their first supersectional since 1997, finished the 2012-13 season with a 29-4 record.
"It was a great defensive game," said Wheaton Warrenville South coach Rob Kroehnke. "They play really good defense. They hit shots when they needed to and hit free throws when they needed them. That's how you win close games. Give them credit. And our kids battled like they have all year."
