Letter: Liberals only tell half-truths and lies
To the Editor:
Every week, we see someone writing in against U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam.
This week, we are told that Rep. Roskam voted against House Resolution 152 (letter to the editor, “Will this Congress do the people’s work?” by Lane Reed, Feb. 7). Mr. Reed is only telling part of the truth, but then why should anyone be surprised that we have yet another liberal lie?
Rep. Roskam did vote against Resolution 152 because around $33 billion in pork was added to the bill that had nothing to do with Sandy relief. Rep. Roskam later voted on a bill that granted the relief money. Anyone want to take bets on how much of that money is wasted?
Mr. Lane then goes on to write, “The next act we can anticipate is games about raising the debt ceiling (something which we have never failed to do).” So now Rep. Roskam and the Republicans are supposed to agree to bring this country further into debt? As of this writing our debt is more than $16.5 trillion!
Your dear leader could steal 90 percent of the top 1 percent of the U.S. producers and not even put a dent in that number. By the way, how is everyone enjoying their first couple of paychecks for the year? You fools thought they were only going after the rich!
I guess it doesn’t matter, though. Congress' job is not to keep a ruffian from gaining total power. Their job is to go along with the dear leader, after all he won, right?
I just wish I knew what you liberals wanted. Is it the destruction of capitalism? Everyone living in a ghetto? Everyone equally poor and miserable? I will be quiet now; onward with progress we go.
