DuPage honors Airport Authority Chairman Daniel Goodwin
HINSDALE — DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin and the County Board honored DuPage Airport Authority Chairman Daniel Goodwin of Oak Brook during this week's board meeting for his 10 years of service to the agency.
Cronin said Goodwin, who resigned in January, was instrumental in transforming the once-troubled agency into one of the most respected aviation airports in the country. A recent economic impact study concluded that the airport generates more than $117 million annually for the local economy and has created 1,000 jobs.
Following his appointment to the DuPage Airport Authority Board in October of 2002, Goodwin was subsequently elected as chairman in January 2003. During his tenure, Goodwin implemented model procurement and financial policies, improved airport operations and reduced the overall tax burden on DuPage County homeowners.
