Developer scraps plans for Downers Grove senior care facility
DOWNERS GROVE — Plans for a senior care facility in southern Downers Grove have been withdrawn, the village announced late Friday.
A developer had hoped to erect a three-story, 120-unit facility on three lots at 63rd Street and Lyman Avenue, but the plan hit a snag during a village Plan Commission meeting last month.
Residents brought attention to a private land agreement that said the lots in the subdivision could only be used for single-family residences.
The village directed the developers, Delta Development, to either negotiate a compromise or withdraw the petition. Developers had until Monday to find a resolution.
The village announced at 5:30 p.m. Friday that the developer had withdrawn the petition. "No further action will take place regarding this petition," the vilage's statement read.
