Man allegedly posed as Village of Addison employee in attempt to enter residence

ADDISON — The Village of Addison received a report from a resident about an individual attempting to gain access to a home by posing as a village employee, according to a news release.

The individual told the resident that he was there to read the water meter. However, he was not in a village vehicle, and did not have village identification, so the resident refused to allow him inside.

The village did not say when or where the incident occurred.
