On Nov. 29, the first class of students was inducted into the newly-established music honor society, Tri-M, at Willowbrook High School.
The society welcomed 58 students into the Modern Music Masters Honor Society during a ceremony that was led by Karyn Wolcott, chair of the school's music department; Bill Gilmer, band director; Nathan Sackschewsky, orchestra director; and Linda Radtke, piano teacher and accompanist.
To be involved in the society, students must have a 3.0 GPA, be a performer in the school's top band, choir or orchestra and maintain at least a "B" average in music classes.
Tri-M will hold monthly meetings at the school and work to raise the standards of its music department. Members of the society will help at concerts and be involved in community and music-department service activities.
