Hayden Adams

SCHOOL Willowbrook
This two-way standout almost single-handedly beat York in Week 3 with two touchdown catches and three interceptions. In a crucial Week 8 win over Addison Trail, which locked up a playoff berth for the Warriors, Adams picked off two more passes and returned one for a touchdown. He finished with 296 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

The Warriors had a dangerous offense this year and Barnes was a big part of that. The Warriors’ top rusher went for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns this fall.

Dom Battaglia

The Warriors’ leader did a little bit of everything. Battaglia was one of the defense’s top playmakers. Offensively, he piled up 686 yards and seven touchdowns as a receiver and ran for 335 yards and six touchdowns. He even quarterbacked the Warriors’ playoff game in place of the injured Brian Johnson and had two passing touchdowns on the season.

Joe Borsellino (MVP)

SCHOOL Montini
Whether it was snagging the big first down reception or converting a short yardage play out of the wildcat, Borsellino was Montini’s first option when they needed a big play. The wide receiver scored a team-best 19 touchdowns, 14 receiving and five rushing.

Javvion Bradley
YEAR Sophomore
SCHOOL Addison Trail
It takes some context to appreciate Bradley’s numbers, 35 receptions for 423 yards and two touchdowns, as a wide receiver for the Blazers. The Blazers run the ball early and often so Bradley produced those numbers with limited opportunities to make plays happen. With two more years of high school ahead of him, Bradley will be one to watch.

Clark Brinkman
YEAR Junior
SCHOOL Immaculate Conception
Brinkman was a big-play weapon for the Knights. He averaged 14 yards per carry and more than 20 yards per reception to score five touchdowns this fall. He also was a starter on defense, totaling 33 tackles and an interception as defensive back.

Demetrius Carr
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Immaculate Conception
Carr was a vital part of the Knights’ offense. The dual-threat quarterback led the team in passing yards (1,062), rushing yards (830), passing touchdowns (13) and rushing touchdowns (11). The IC coaching staff trusted him so much that they allowed Carr to audible at the line of scrimmage if he saw an opening.

Danny D’Angelo
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Immaculate Conception
The Knights’ primary running back ran for 745 yards and scored eight touchdowns, but he was also a key member to the secondary. D’Angelo shared the team lead with three interceptions and was second with nine pass deflections.

Mark Gorogianis
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Montini
Gorogianis was Montini’s jack-of-all-trades offensively. He was an explosive running quarterback and a reliable receiver. He passed for four touchdowns, rushed for nine and caught four more. His five touchdown master class performance in the quarterfinal win over Marian Catholic (eight carries for 240 yards) is about as good of a game as a player can have.

Andrew Harte
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Montini
One of the state’s best kickers, Harte showed off his ability in the playoffs, most notably his game-winning kick in the final seconds of the second-round win over Sycamore. Harte made five field goals 40 yards or longer this fall and was 54-for-56 on extra point attempts. He also got to use his big leg as the team’s punter.

Tim Hipskind
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Immaculate Conception
IC’s offense was primarily run based, but Hipskind was quarterback Demetrius Carr’s favorite target through the air. He only had 17 catches to lead the team, but was always a big-play threat. He totaled 484 yards to average just under 29 yards per reception and scored seven touchdowns.

Brian Johnson
YEAR Junior
SCHOOL Willowbrook
Johnson was pivotal to the Warriors’ turnaround season from 0-9 to playoff bound. The quarterback passed for 2,187 yards and 17 TDs in the dynamic Willowbrook offense that averaged just under 30 points per game.

Joe Kotch
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Glenbard East
Kotch managed to put up terrific numbers for the 1-8 Rams. The standout dual-threat quarterback passed for 2,162 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also ran for 613 yards and eight touchdowns.

Mike Maduko
YEAR Junior
SCHOOL Montini
The Montini offense got most of the attention this season, but Maduko was a standout on the defensive side of the ball. The linebacker led the team with 92 tackles and had three fumble recoveries and an interception.

Adam Muellers
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Immaculate Conception
Muellers did a little bit of everything for the Knights. He was second on the team in tackles as a defensive back, second in receptions as a wide receiver and also was IC’s kicker and punter. Muellers also picked off two passes.

Jordan Peacock
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL York
It wasn’t a memorable season for York, but Peacock managed to still be productive out of the backfield for the Dukes. Peacock scored eight touchdowns on the season, six on the ground, one receiving and one kickoff return.

Brandon Smith
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Willowbrook
Smith gave the Warriors a second option in the backfield and he made the most of his opportunities. He found the end zone six times and rushed for 609 yards.

Dimitri Taylor
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL Montini
Taylor’s quickness and agility was on full display in the Class 5A state final. He scored the game’s only touchdowns, both on big plays, and beat multiple defenders in the open field on each of them. Taylor racked up 1,554 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the ground to go with three through the air.

Dylan Thompson
YEAR Junior
SCHOOL Montini
Thompson shared the Broncos’ sack lead with Fred Beaugard with 7.5 on the season. The 6-foot-6 defensive lineman was second on Montini with 72 tackles and forced four fumbles on the season.

Austin Wagner
YEAR Senior
SCHOOL York
Wagner was a bright spot for the Dukes’ offense. Despite getting the most attention from opposing defenses, Wagner was still able to catch eight touchdowns on the year and even threw a pair of flea flickers for scores.
