Senior running back
Taylor scored the games’ only touchdowns on a 74-yard run and a 48-yard reception. The run was Montini’s first offensive play to give the Broncos the early lead. The reception was a highlight reel caliber run with Taylor shaking off and avoiding multiple defenders before diving into the end zone. He finished with 166 yards rushing and 62 yards receiving.
It wasn’t Harte’s best day kicking, he missed attempts from 56, 32 and 48 yards out, but he did make two second half field goals. A 23-yarder and a 31-yarder in the third quarter gave the Broncos a three-possession lead to minimize Morris’ hopes of a comeback. He also had two punts inside the 20.
Senior wide receiver
With Joey Borsellino hampered by an ankle injury Gorogianis took the lead. He led the Broncos with six receptions for 68 yards. Gorogianis also got in on the act at quarterback, but ran every time. He racked up 50 yards rushing on seven carries.
Senior defensive lineman
The all-state lineman had a team-high nine tackles in what was likely the best game of the year for the Broncos’ defense. He also had three sacks and a forced fumble. Beaugard only has one college offer, from North Dakota, but that could change after his big stage performance.
Junior defensive lineman
Thompson was key in shutting down Morris’ physical running game. He had six tackles, three for loss and a sack. Morris got to state thanks to its tough running style, but the Montini defense was more physical and a last minute touchdown was all the Redskins could muster.
