Holiday season begins with Santa, parade in Westmont

The Village of Westmont kicked off the holiday season in style Friday with its annual Frosty and Friends Parade and Tree Lighting event in downtown Westmont, featuring a variety of holiday activities for the entire family.
Highlights of the event included live music, real reindeer, a visit from the Grinch, and other activities in downtown Westmont.
The event also marked the 15th anniversary of the Frosty and Fiends Parade down Cass Avenue, led by Frosty the Snowman, and the tree lighting at Westmont Centre, followed by pictures with Santa Claus.
The program was part of the annual Westmont Holly Days Festival, a series of month-long activities held in Westmont to coincide with the holidays. Upcoming events include the Frost-Tee Winter golf outing this weekend, the Breakfast With Santa On Dec. 8 and a Grinch Whobilation Family Night on Dec. 22.
