Louise Egofske: The CORE is always buzzing with energy
The Lemont Park District CORE Fitness & Aquatic Complex (The CORE) means many different things to many different people.
To some, it’s a place where they lift weights or shoot hoops with friends. To others, it’s a place to take an energetic Zumba class a couple times a week.
Parents come to The CORE to cheer on their Dolphin swimmers at indoor meets. And 6-, 7- and 8-year-olds by the dozens join in the fun at the Itty Bitty Hoops Basketball program.
Whether someone’s grandparents are enjoying their daily workout in the fitness center or someone is training for their next marathon on the indoor track, The CORE is always buzzing with positive energy.
This sentiment comes full circle as CORE members and guests mean so much to CORE staff.
That is why November is CORE Member Appreciation Month. What a perfect time of year to show our gratitude to all our loyal members.
As a token of appreciation, The CORE is offering its members special discounts on CORE Gear as well as weekly chances to win a CORE Gear Bag. CORE Gear is the facility’s new line of high-quality workout apparel and accessories.
Also, weekly goodies have made an appearance at The CORE. So far, there has been Fruity Friday in which CORE members were given fresh fruit during their visit Nov. 2.
Water Wednesday was also celebrated Nov. 7, in which members received free cold bottled water. More treats are to come throughout the month.
In addition to the above perks, the district also offers CORE members a CORE Rewards program. This members-only benefits program includes premium guest pass pricing as well as a refer-a-friend program.
New in 2013, The CORE will offering its members free health-focused seminars brought to you by ATI Physical Therapy. These events will be highlighted in the 2013 Spring/Winter Memory Maker that will be hitting mailbox later this month.
The Park District staff and board report continuous positive feedback from residents and area visitors regarding The CORE. I get to hear so many good things.
Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t approach me and tell me how wonderful the indoor pool is or how they love the state-of-the-art equipment in the center. Also, the fitness classes and instructors, the on-site child care and the indoor track receive praise often. We are pleased to be able to give back to our members and show our appreciation.
