Elmhurst Mayor DiCianni to resign Dec. 3, council to select replacement
Elmhurst Mayor Peter DiCianni said at Monday's regular city council meeting he will officially resign as mayor Dec. 3, the same night he is sworn in as commissioner on the DuPage County Board.
Elmhurst's city council also has a meeting Dec. 3.
DiCianni said the council will vote to select a mayor pro tem who will serve until voters choose a new mayor in the April municipal election.
Aldermen Steve Morley and Mark Mulliner have already announced candidacy for the mayor's seat in the April election.
Mulliner said he would not seek the mayor pro tem position.
