Berwyn comprehensive plan completed, Cicero’s underway
Berwyn officially adopted its new comprehensive plan by a unanimous vote during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
The plan is the result of more than a year’s work in conjunction with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
The city will now work with CMAP over the next two years to enact the plan, including a revamping of the city’s zoning ordinance. The plan calls for bike- and pedestrian-friendly improvements and increased parking in the Depot District.
CMAP will now begin work on a comprehensive plan for Cicero, which has not updated its plan since the mid-1970s. Both plans are funded by a grant and cost the cities no money.
