Residential leaf pick-up program begins this week

Lombard, IL

Trees covered in yellow leaves in the woods at the Lemont Township Heritage Woodland Sanctuary on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011.

Lombard’s free, residential leaf pick-up program begins Monday and will run until Nov. 30.

During this time, residents can bring Kraft, brown paper bags filled with leaves to the curb for pick-up on normal garbage collection days. Garbage cans containing leaves or other yard waste will also be collected as long as they have yard waste stickers.

Residents cannot blow or rake leaves into the streets because they will block village storm drains.

Any questions about the village’s yard waste pick-up program can be directed to the Public Works Department at (630) 620-5740.
