Singer of rising rock band The Orwells and two family members arrested in Elmhurst
Mario Cuomo, 19, singer of rising Elmhurst-based rock band The Orwells was arrested along with two other family members at their residence earlier this month.
The Orwells have recently been featured in several national print and online music publications including Spin Magazine and Pitchfork. The band is currently playing shows in New York City.
On Oct. 5, police executed a search warrant of the Cuomo home, 460 N. Emroy Ave., and allegedly seized 23 Adderall pills, marijuana, numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia and four firearms, according to the Elmhurst Police Department. Police did not say how much marijuana was found.
Mario Cuomo was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Francis Cuomo, 17, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful use of a weapon.
Dominick Cuomo, 45, was charged with possession of firearms without a firearm owner's identification card.
Francis Cuomo was taken to DuPage County Jail and Mario and Dominick were released on bond, police said.
