Science Coalition gives Congressman Hultgren ‘Champion of Science of Award’
The Science Coalition on Friday morning gave Congressman Randy Hultgren, R-14, its Champion of Science Award at Fermilab.
“In his short time in Congress, and in a tight budget climate, Congressman Hultgren stood out quickly as a strong and consistent voice for maintaining federal investments in science and innovation. We are pleased to present him with our Champion of Science Award,” said Science Coalition President Abby Benson of the University of Colorado.
The award is for a strong commitment to funding scientific research.
Hultgren has served on three subcommittes in Science, Space and Technology Committee in Congress.
One bill Hultgren introduced is the Energy Critical Elements Advancement Act of 2011 which urges Congress to fix problems in the energy-critical elements supply chain.
Hultgren also created the Science Advisory Council which includes more than 300 science stakeholders.
