St. Charles residents to go bald for cancer research donations

St. Charles, IL

Jessica Greene-Rosier and her sister, Jacqueline Greene — both St. Charles natives — will shave their heads in April for donations to support children’s cancer research.

The event will take place at Creighton University in Nebraska, where Jacqueline Green is a pre-med student. Greene-Rosier is a student majoring in nonprofits at North Park University in Chicago.

“The event is not only to raise money for research, it is to also show children that have lost their hair from cancer treatment that its OK to walk around bald and that you are still just as beautiful without a head of hair,” Greene-Rosier said in a statement.

The two sisters have a combined fundraising goal of $3,500. Donations will go towards the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which funds more childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
