A man remains hospitalized after being struck by a commuter train late Wednesday in Glen Ellyn.
The unidentified man was struck at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday by a Metra/Union Pacific Railway train west of the Prospect Avenue grade crossing, according to a press release from the Glen Ellyn Police Department. He was transported by helicopter to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Train traffic along the Metra/Union Pacific line was halted for between two and three hours. Glen Ellyn police have not been able to speak with the man and do not know why he was in that area. They are continuing to investigate the incident.
